Church Ministries

Charla Blair

Dear Superintendent Allen, Presbytery and District Family:

Thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity to invest into the lives of this generation and the next. 2023 was a year of diving deeper with God. At the core of all of our planning was the prayer for our leaders and students to know The Holy Spirit in a deeper way.

Prayer Ministry:

Pastors Brian and Cindy Johnson at Bethel Church Grass Valley led another year for our NCN Prayer Ministry. In January, we kicked the year off right with our National Week of Prayer. We also sent out our first collective prayer journal. Thank you to everyone who participated.

 NCN Kids Mission Statement:

We are a team of uniquely skilled leaders that exist to see kids ministry within the center if every church. Our kids are needed and the future of the church depends on their growth, empowerment and service as future leaders.

Kids Summer Camps:

Participants: 500

We were excited to see what God had done in our students’ lives when we gathered together for our 80’s themed: Totally Awesome Righteous Summer Camp 2022.

Our June camp had a line up of speakers from our very own NCN Kids Pastors. July had special guests Jamie Walton and Lori Warring from the National Office.  Due to the Dixen fires of 2021, this is the first time in two years, we have been able to gather together for Kids Camp. Our students were ready.

Special thanks to our Kids Pastors, Summer camp planning teams and Worship Pastor Aaron Perez from One Church, Modesto for leading worship with our first ever youth student worship team leading at a kids camp.

Girls Ministries:

This fall we had our Girls Ministries Retreat at Old Oak Ranch, Sonora. With special guest Rev. Amy Miranda challenging the girls to SPARK the fire in their relationships with God and draw closer to Him.

With impactful messages, interactive questions and games, the girls walked away feeling refreshed and ready to SPARK Fire in their lives.

 Boys Ministries:

This year we had our second annual Mini Men's event coinciding with the October Men's’ Conference. This two day event hosted games, activities and a lesson for boys ages 6 - 12 while their dads attended the conference. Join us next year as we have another event for sons and their father figures to spend some time together at Men’s Conference and Mini Men’s 2023.Thank you to our Boys Ministries Coordinator Pastor Sean Marshall for your dedication to not only the kids but to the NCN District.

Next Generation Leadership Conference:

Attendance: 300

January’s NGLC was a tremendous success. With over 300 kids pastors, youth pastors and their leaders gathered together for leadership training and a special message from Pastor Curt Harlow.

Thank you to our breakout speakers: James Hall of Susanville AG, Eric and Tiffany Saathoff from Destiny Rocklin, Sean Sweets and Rev. Steve Edwards of Global Passion.

A special thank you to Pastor Eric Daniel from Hillside Church in Napa for opening your church  for this event and to your wonderful staff.

Leadership Drive Ins:

Participants: 120

2022 we were able to hold multiple Church Ministry Drive Ins. This  year we reformatted to include not just our youth pastors but also our kids pastors , young adult pastors and their leaders. Our first Drive In was hosted at River City Church, Elk Grove with guest speaker Pastor Willy Bowles and our second held at One Church Modesto with Pastor Marcia Bethke.

The summer of 2022 we hosted our first CALLED Camp, July 11-13. ncncalled.com was launched to connect this generation to ministry with the assemblies of God. If you have a student that is called to ministry within your church, we will help you equip them to serve with a greater sense of purpose.

CALLED exists to mobilize C.E.O.’s with the local church. C.E.O.’s are those who are called to ministry, quipped for ministry and original to the culture of the church in which they serve. Being able to offer students a commissioned certificate and classes that will help them work towards their licensing once they graduate is one of the tools we offer.

Youth Convention 2022:

Participation: 1,550

Youth Convention this season was a powerful two day event for our NCN students and young adults. From the first note of worship to students coming down to the altar for prayer and everything in between. A special thanks to each of our guest speakers: Alex Delgado from Fresno; Keenen Worrell, senior pastor of Limitless Church in Woodland; Joy Levy from New Life in Dublin, Sean Pritchard, senior pastor of The Oaks Church in Loomis, Missionary Victor Gaiduchik and David Grant from Project Rescue.

Thank you, Pastor Abe Daniel and your staff at Trinity Life Center Sacramento, for hosting Youth Convention.

KIDMIN CREATE:

Attendance: 45 Adults. 200 Kids.

In September, we were able to energize our Kid Pastors with KidMin C3: CREATE, CONNECT & COLLABORATE. This Saturday event was different than any event we have ever had with special guest Mario The Maker. The first half of the event had over 200 kids in attendance. After lunch and fellowship Mario along with Kids Pastor Sean Marshall from Destiny Church, Rocklin took Q & A from the audience.

A special thanks goes to my KIDMIN Team: Erika Diehl, Frank Pereira, James Hall, Eric and Tiffany Saathoff, Michele Preslar, Sean Marshall and Stacy Marks.

As the coordinator for Girls Ministries, Rev. Cindy Sampson has spent the year building relationships with GM clubs and their leadership. Royal Rangers:

This year gave our Royal Rangers an opportunity to gather again for their Derby races. Through out our district, boys of all ages took time weekly to form blocks of wood into the perfect Derby car.

Pow Wow Camp this year was out of this world with our Star Wars themed camp. With over 50 in attendance the rangers and their commanders were challenged by Pastor Alex Ortiz of Trinity Life Center, Sacramento to be leaders and not conform to the patterns of this world.
