CHURCH MINISTRIES IMPACT REPORT 2024

Rev. Aaron Perez, Director

It is such an honor and privilege to serve our NCN District as it's Church Ministries Director! I thoroughly enjoyed my time serving as Char's admin since 2023, and I'm blessed to step into a role that she strengthened and developed throughout her tenure.

Our department's purpose and ongoing vision is to resource, encourage, and support the ministry directors in the local church across our district, as they fulfill their purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry.

We do this by . . .

  1. Building Relationships

  2. Equipping Ministry Leaders

  3. Supporting the Local Church

  4. Developing the Next Generation of Leaders

2024: We are grateful for…

  1. God's Presence. First and foremost, we are grateful that every time we gathered this year, the presence of God was evident. At events and in meetings, He never failed to pour out His Spirit on young and old.

  2. Senior pastors & leaders who encourage their staff to lead at a district level. This department only functions with the support of many leaders and teams who come alongside to help advise and inform our office; as well as support our many events throughout the year. We recognize that behind these teams are Senior Pastors that are willing to share their staff members to support the work that we are doing for all the churches in our district.

  3. TEND24 and our Prayer Ministry Team. This year we joined alongside many churches across our district to take part in a 24 hour prayer event. Many churches opened their doors, and so many pastors (and their staff) hosted a site so that our entire district family could partner during the same 24 hour period to seek God and cry out for our people and communities. We received so many testimonies from this event and look forward to hearing even more in the years to come.

  4. Leaders who serve on our Church Ministries Teams:

    1. NCN Regional Youth Director’s: Jason Varughese, Pat McConville, Justin Blattel, Jaime Pierce

    2. NCN KidMin Team: Savanna Williams, Johnathan Aleman, Frank Pereira, Aaron Gering, Jerraline Coster, James Hall, Erika Diehl, Stacy Marks

    3. NCN Prayer Team: Brian and Cindy Johnson, Ben and Jill Brown, Larry and Chaunda Jensen, Darryl and Trina Sandford, Jeff and Christina Lee, Tim and Katie Gavigan and Mary Inman

    4. NCN Girls Ministries Director, Cindy Sampson.

    5. NCN Worship Ministry Director, Jon Lugo

    6. NCN Men's Ministry Director, Dr. Samuel Huddleston

  5. The Lord calling young people into ministry. We held our second Commissioning service at Presence Conference 2024 and witnessed 31 students being commissioned for the first time into ministry. We are grateful that young people are responding to the call of God on their lives.

YOUTH CONVENTIONS: SACRAMENTO & LAS VEGAS

Presence Conference 2024:

Participation: 1,400+

ALTAR[ED] It’s an Altar Not a Stage. Presence Conference is designed for an entire generation to come together to minister to Him. We know that when we minister to Him, He in turn ministers to us. Our desire is for a generation to crave the prayer closet over the platform. The altar is the focus of Presence Conference ... a place where we can lay down our lives and pick up His calling.

Thank you, Michael & Christine Baker and your staff at Destiny Church Sacramento, for hosting Youth Convention.

YthCon LV 2024:

We are so very grateful for the team at Green Valley Christian Center in Henderson who hosted the Southern Nevada Youth Convention in many many years. Conference speaker Rev. Bret Allen brought a powerful word. Jason Varughese, our Regional District Youth Director in Southern Nevada continues doing a wonderful job of keeping our youth leaders connected.

PASSING THE BATON

At the Presence Conference in November 2024, we celebrated Rev. Char Blair’s six years as the NCN Church Ministries Director and welcomed Rev. Aaron Perez (pictured above with his wife, Camille Perez) into the position. Char passed the baton of Church Ministries leadership to Aaron after being honored by Rev. Bret and Valerie Allen, Dr. Sam and Linda Huddleston, and Dr. Jay and Teri Herndon, along with the Regional Youth Directors.

We are excited about what the future holds for NCN Church Ministries with Rev. Aaron Perez leading the way!

NGLC 2024

ATTENDANCE: 300+

In January we hosted our annual NextGen Leadership Conference. We invite all those who work with youth, kids and young adults to come together to worship, listen and learn. Corey Russel was our featured speaker, and breakout sessions were led by experienced leaders from our NCN churches.

A special thanks to Pastors Frank and Laura Silverii for letting us use Bethel Church San Jose to host the event.

GIRLS MINISTRIES

This fall we had our Teen Girl Retreat at Old Oak Ranch, Sonora. Special guest Lyndsay Darsan encouraged the girls that they are made in the image of God - IMAGO DEI! Olivia Llepes led some amazing worship. We had a sweet time with God and a great time being with each other!

Girls Ministries continues to impact the lives of girls in our NCN churches through mentoring.

At the 2024 Presence Conference, we hosted our commissioning service. We commissioned 31 young people into ministry. We believe these are our future credential holders. We reiterate that everyone is called to minister, but not everyone is called into ministry. Our goal is to help CALLED students understand their calling, get equipped and remain original to who God has made them to be.

61 high school students and young adults were a part of CALLED in 2024. CALLED hosted a camp for those who have a definite call to minister with 100+ in attendance.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

2024 began the mission of developing the NCN Young Adult Ministries. A discussion Zoom for pastors and leaders of Young Adult Ministries hosted by Shelby Scott was held every other month. More to come in 2025!

PRAYER MINISTRY

The NCN Prayer Team, led by Rev. Brian and Rev. Cindy Johnson, continues host opportunities to develop our prayer lives. 2024 began with a Week of Prayer and the 2024 NCN Prayer Journal - a monthly prayer devotional contributed to by our prayer team.

TEND24, a 24-hour prayer event, was hosted at 18 of our churches. Each host church set their own timeline - including worship and prayer stations - with each hour having a focus of prayer. Tend the fire…

Equipping Those Who Equip The Saints

Thank you to all of the pastors and leaders who have partnered with us to further the Kingdom of God. A special thank you to Char, who blazed a trail from the moment this position was formed, and set a precedent to prioritize the Presence of God at every opportunity. Also to Cindy Sampson, who has served with me in the Church Ministries office as a co-admin, and for carrying a heavier load through the transition. Beyond this, I am truly grateful for all our Regional Youth Directors, KidMin Advisory Board, Area Leaders, and many more who have come alongside me to help resource and support our ministry leaders.
