Women’s Ministries

What a year of opportunity.  It was exciting to see the NCN Women come together in a powerful way to encourage and strengthen each other.

In May 2020 our team began moving into an “Online presence” Giving the NCN Women  virtual devotions three times a week.  This continued through most of the summer.  We have been able to reach over 1000 women with each video.  To add a little fun we had weekly contests with prizes to engage the women even further.  We encouraged them to post a praise, or write their favorite quarantine recipe or share a prayer request.  What a joy it was to bring encouragement to the ladies.

Sisterhood in Place

In May we had our First Virtual Sisterhood-This was done live on zoom.  It was great to connect with 500 women during the event but many more watching at a later time.  Our guest was Angela Carpenter who shared an amazing testimony of God’s grace during the death of their only son and then experienced God’s grace again when her husband was fighting for his life for months.  God was faithful and Thomas’ heath has fully retuned to normal.  After Angela’s message  we felt led to lead an alter call where many responded in the privacy of their own homes.  It truly was an incredible time with the NCN ladies.

Project Sisterhood

Mission’s is the heartbeat of Women’s ministries.  We were blessed to  virtually launch our new 2020-2021 Project Sisterhood which includes Five Projects.  We were able to post through social media the gratitude of the 2019-2020 recipients.  Women’s ministries was able to raise over 100,000.00 for missions.

Sweet Life Experience

On September 26th we launched our postponed Sweet Life Conference where thousands of women were able to be encouraged, equipped and empowered.  We felt led to do this event FREE of charge. Our Sweet Life Experience Conference  included three local speakers, Joy Levy from New Life, Jessie Armstrong from Real Life and Abby Sterling from New Hope- Santa Cruz campus, local artists were: Veronica Heinlein, Christi McDaniel and Lauryn Longoria.  National speakers were: Robin May, Sheila Harper and Susie Larson. We met online at 9am on Saturday  September 26th.  The Holy Spirit does move through online experiences.  Many responded to meet virtually for prayer afterwards led by Cindy

Between quarantine month I was able to participate in a few women’s conferences.  The ladies in Reno were very welcoming and it was great to participate with them as they are a new church exploring the Assemblies of God.

The Arise Conference in Vacaville featured Christa Smith and Hannah Heden.  Over 100 ladies came out for the two day conference.  Christa Smith is our main speaker for Sweet Life in 2021, so it is always good to hear your speakers in person.   She did a fabulous job and we are excited to have her in March.

Upcoming events

I’d like to thank Superintendent Bret Allen, Dr. Sam, Dr. Jay along with the Executive Committee, Presbytery and the Northern California/Nevada churches for their continued support of Women’s Ministries.  Although 2020 was a year for the books, God was faithful to see us not only survive but THRIVE.  I’m blessed to also work with an amazing team: Kathy MacPhail, Lori Soto, Cindy Reynolds, Vika Chebotarev, Meredith Tasiopoulos, Linda Johnson, Abby Sterling Star Richardson and our incredible Area Leaders, Ladies you’re the best!  My best supporter is of course my husband Jim who without his love and support I would not be able to lead this department.
